SUMMARY:R.A.D. Basic Self Defense for Women
DESCRIPTION:Fee: $10. The Licking Park District has partnered with the Newa
 rk Police Dept to teach women realistic self-defense tactics. The acronym 
 R.A.D. is short for Rape Aggression Defense. This is a women-only course t
 hat begins with awareness\, prevention\, risk reduction\, and avoidance wh
 ile progressing to the basics of hands-on defense training. This course is
  taught by nationally trained instructors. The R.A.D. system is dedicated 
 to teaching women defensive concepts &amp\; techniques against various for
 ms of assault by utilizing easy\, effective and proven self-defense tactic
 s. Participants must be a 18 and up or a minimum of 16 years of age if acc
 ompanied by a parent. Registration is limited to the first 15 registrants.
  (Registration will open Dec. 1 for a second class to be offered Jan. 4.)
