SUMMARY:'A New Climate for a New Climate'
DESCRIPTION:As part of Denison's Earth Week celebration Adam Met will visit
  the campus and give a public talk "A New Climate for a New Climate."\n\nA
 dam Met is a musician\, educator\, advocate\, and writer. Met is the “A
 ” in the multi-platinum band AJR. The group tours the world to bring the
 ir indie-pop music to millions of fans\, allowing Met to use his reach and
  voice to advance social justice and inclusive solutions to the global cli
 mate emergency. As founder and executive director of the climate advocacy 
 nonprofit Planet Reimagined\, Met has galvanized attention and action in a
  variety of innovative ways\, focusing on scientific research coupled with
  media and incentive-based initiatives. He received the 2024 TIME Earth Aw
 ard and was named a New York Times Changemaker for this ground-breaking wo
 rk. He has been actively involved with Congress and the White House on bip
 artisan efforts to promote renewable energy policies in the U.S. On the in
 ternational front\, he serves as a sustainability advocate for the United 
 Nations Development Program\, raising awareness about climate issues. As a
 n adjunct professor at Columbia University\, he leverages his expertise in
  human rights law and sustainable development\, and his experience as an a
 dvocate\, to teach about climate policy and campaigning. Met earned his Ba
 chelor of Arts from Columbia University\, an Master of Arts from New York 
 University\, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Birmingham 
 in International Human Rights Law. Met has a new book entitled “Amplify:
  How to Use the Power of Connection to Engage\, Take Action\, and Build a 
 Better World\,” which will be released on June 3\, 2025 and is available
  for pre-order on Amazon and elsewhere.\n\nMet has been featured in The Ne
 w York Times\, Wall Street Journal\, Fortune\, Quartz\, MSNBC and ABC. He 
 is a frequent contributor to TIME and a regular commentator on climate iss
 ues for CNN. He also has brought climate messages to entertainment outlets
  including MTV\, Rolling Stone\, Billboard Magazine\, People\, Pollstar\, 
 Grammy.com and the Hollywood Reporter.\n\nThis visit is sponsored primaril
